HERRIN HIGH SCHOOL

OUR FACULTY

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The faculty, staff and administration look forward to the challenge of continuing Herrin High School's long tradition of excellence.

Our goal for each student is to maximize academic performance and to develop social competence, responsibility and self-confidence.

We believe that the positive development and success of all students are common goals and a collective responsibility shared by parents, students, community and school.

We also believe that the central purpose of our school is to promote student learning, and that optimal learning conditions are best achieved when parents, students, community and school cooperate and mutually support each other.

National Honor Society Requirements :

Membership into the Herrin High School Anthony B. Venegoni Chapter of the National Honor Society is an honor bestowed upon a junior or senior student. Selection for membership is decided by a Faculty Council and is based on evidence of outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service.

Junior and senior students meet these criteria through the following requirements:

  • Maintining a minimum grade point average of 3.5 (for the class of 2022 and beyond, a minimum GPA of 3.75 will be required.)
  • Exhibiting excellent behavior in and out of school.
  • Serving an active and quality role in academic organizations, athletic teams, and/or student activities at Herrin High School.

Members should fully understand that they are expected to continue to demonstrate the qualities of outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service for which they were selected, and that they are subject to dismissal by the Faculty Council at any time if they do not maintain these standards.
