The HJHS 8th grade celebration is set for May 18th at 5:00pm on the south lawn. Bring lawn chairs and help us send off our 8th grade class to HHS! Family and friends of 8th grade students are welcome to attend.
HJHS remote student device/hot spot return will be Thurs, May 13th from 1:00-3:00 and Friday, May 14th from 9:00-11:00. Return the device/hot spot to the corresponding grade level doorway. (6th = NorthWest door, 7th=NorthEast door, 8th=SouthWest door) In-person student device/hot spot return will be on Mon, May 17th and Tues, May 18th during regular school hours.
Thursday, May 6th has been designated as a Herrin CUSD #4 remote planning day. There will be NO SCHOOL for students in-person OR remote on May 6th.
HJHS Honor Society Induction will be Wed, April 28th in Mike Sortal Gymnasium: 6th grade = 1:00, 7th grade = 1:45, 8th grade = 2:30. Each student will be limited to 2 guests. Masks covering the mouth and nose will be required of all guests.
HJHS: 4th Qtr midterm grades will be sent via student emails on Wednesday, April 21st.
HHS Project Graduation is hosting a pork steak dinner fundraiser at the KC Hall on May 1st from 1:00-6:00. Tickets are $10 each. Please contact Nurse Smith if you'd like to purchase tickets.
HJHS will be closed April 2-5 for Easter Break.

8th Grade Parents: Please be sure your student checks their school email to complete the freshman registration process. They were provided with a short demonstration video from Mr. Tate, the high school counselor, and a registration form to complete. The form needs to be completed by Friday, March 5th. HJHS: 3rd Qtr midterm grades will be sent via student emails on Wednesday, Feb. 10th. At-risk parent-teacher conferences are Thursday, Feb. 11th from 5pm-8pm. Teachers will be in contact to schedule those parents who need to come in for a conference.
The 8th grade class parents have set up a FaceBook page for all 8th grade parents to follow. The page will have information on the class party, promotion t-shirts, and fundraisers. The name of the page is "HJHS Class of 2021 8th Grade Parents"
HJHS Spring pictures will be on Thursday, January 28th. Students who are still remote learners are welcome to come from 11:00-1130 for their picture.

From Mrs. Mayer: Please see the attached flyer for the ways to order the yearbook. If you order online, click on Herrin Unit 4, not the individual school. Orders should be placed by 2/7/2021.
Reminder that students who were issued a chromebook from the school need to bring that chromebook (in the case that it was issued in) daily to and from school. We do not have enough chromebooks for them to have one at home and at school.
